Mr. Bernoudy considers fantasy to be his first love.  He first gained an interest in reading in the 3rd Grade when his teacher used to read the Chronicles of Narnia to the class.  Under the assumed name Lawrence Strickland Michael Bernoudy pursues his love of fantasy.

As an adult Michael Bernoudy was dismayed at lack of persons of color in fantasy books.  When he became a father he sought to rectify the situation.  Using his middle name "Lawrence" and his mother's maiden name "Strickland" he began to write fantasy books.
